Thank You Letter - Neill Keneipp
6/19/2025
A heartfelt thank you to all who helped me celebrate my retirement as Minier Village President. It was great to ‘talk over some old times’ with past board members, citizens, and friends. It was an extreme pleasure to have served the community of Minier over the past several years. Having a capable group of board members, support staff, and employees that are devoted to the village welfare made my role of Village President much easier. Please give your support to the current members of the board, support staff, and village employees, as they help make Minier an even better place to live and raise a family. On behalf of my wife, Nancy and our family thanks again for your support over these past several years.
Minier Public Works will be flushing hydrants.

Message from Village President Keneipp
8/26/2024
Minier Village residents. A recent water main break on North Main Avenue required a boil order to be put in place for the Village. All protocols set by the Federal and State EPA bodies were followed immediately. This meant a sample was to be sent to an independent lab, analyzed, and a report sent back to Minier. This report either allowed us to lift the boil order or submit additional samples. As of a little before 11 am August 24, 2024, the boil order for the Village was lifted. This notification to residents was made via several means. One being a phone message sent through ‘One Call’, which residents can opt into. If you have not taken advantage of this free service, just call the Village Office (309-392-2442) during regular business hours to be placed on the listing. The Facebook page, “Village of Minier Office” is another means of informing residents of alerts or updates such as what just occurred with the boil order. The Village web site (minier.com) also will be used for such updates and notices. Notices were posted at the Minier Post Office and other local businesses. However, you may have a friend, relative, or neighbor who does not use any of the methods listed above. If so, make an effort to share what information you get with them. All Village Departments, Public Works, Village Office, and Police, worked tirelessly during this extremely difficult situation as they do in similar situations. I personally wish to thank these employees for their dedication as they serve Minier. Often, we do not realize that these employees take very seriously their role in providing you, the residents, the best possible environment in which to live, raise a family, or enjoy retirement. I waited to make this announcement in order to gather all the facts pertinent to the situation. I would rather put out information that has been verified than ‘jump the gun’ so to speak. Please, as you see any Village employee, during the workday or elsewhere, express your thanks. They deserve it!!
